Bonne fete pour bebe Kayla!

We had so much fun planning Kayla's first birthday celebration with her mom Jennie ~ many things we bonded over, including french pastries, babies, and that we also got married the exact same day and year! Since Jennie was originally from New Orleans, it inspired the idea of incorporating a French element to the birthday. With so many angles on how to interpret the concept, we decided to go for a more Parisian approach, and of course all the amazing pastries would be a must!
Special thanks to Tien Wang providing event coverage for MNM Photography!
We asked Melody & Hayley at Sweet & Saucy Shop to help us imitate traditional Korean dol go-im towers out of macaroons. Probably not the easiest thing to conceptualize when you aren't Korean, but they did a great job! Lace and feathers were an important part of the look too, which was perfectly integrated by Sweet Gems with our intricate lace design cake and Mille Fiori with all our floral accents throughout!

Not quite the brooding artists that you might find along the Seine River, but our fabulous silhouette and caricature artist were so great, with berets and all! And Wacko fulfilled the role of our very entertaining magician.

Mini eclairs, petit fours, french macaroons, pink chocolate eiffel tower cupcakes, creme brulee shots... YUM YUM YUM!!!  Loved our bustled linen too!

Olive Hue Paper Goods who also designed Kayla's birthday invitations crafted these cute pin wheels for us, for each guest to spin attached with an event program.
Vintage Paris postcards for guests to leave a special birthday message to Kayla.
Along with the traditional rice cakes favors, every petit monsieur left with a classic "Little Prince" storybook and each petit mademoiselle was given a "Madeline" book to take home. Adults didn't leave empty handed either, enjoying soft pink soaps from Noodle & Boo. Gifts for everyone!
Happy Birthday little Kayla!
Thank you for letting us celebrate with you and your family!
